The Capitol Prayer Network (CPN) is a non profit organization dedicated to helping people find the kingdom of god through a relationship with their God and mankind.
Our mission is to encourage faith in God through community relationships and networking prayer. More specifically we do this by promoting our Capitol Prayer Network services in various communities and praying for those in high stress positions of authority, focusing on state legislators and community leaders.
We established our community leaders to be available to serve communities in crisis and network Christian prayer and encouragement. Our purpose is to build prayer leadership in every community so as to bring hands on encouragement and prayer support for our leaders and the communities they serve.
The Capitol Prayer Network was founded February 2004 by Chaplain Dan Hall.
CPN was incorporated as a non-profit organization in the state of Minnesota in January 2011 by Chaplain Cathy Jo Severson. Cathy Jo was blessed and honored to serve alongside Chaplain Hall since CPN’s founding in 2004. In December 2010, Chaplain Dan Hall “passed the baton” of being President of CPN to Cathy Jo at the State Capitol with the impartation of blessing by Rev. Fred Herzog.
In March 2012, Lois Meland who had served faithfully on the CPN board alongside Cathy Jo and Dan Hall since CPN’s inception in 2004, became President. Lois was voted in by the board as the new President of Capitol Prayer Network (CPN) with the blessing of Rev. Fred Herzog (advisor to the CPN board).
